LIMA – Global superstar Shakira (48) has alarmed fans after being forced to cancel her concert in Lima, Peru, due to a sudden hospitalization. The Colombian singer, who recently embarked on her first world tour in seven years, was admitted to the hospital with severe abdominal pain, just hours before her scheduled performance.
Emergency Hospitalization & Concert Cancellation
Shakira took to social media to explain the situation, revealing that she had to seek emergency medical attention on Saturday night.
“Doctors have informed me that I am not in good enough condition to perform tonight. I was so excited to see my amazing fans in Peru,” she wrote, expressing her disappointment. She also shared hope that she would be discharged on Monday and resume her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour as planned.
The singer was scheduled to perform two back-to-back shows at the National Stadium in Lima on February 16 and 17. It remains unclear whether she will be able to take the stage for Monday’s rescheduled concert.
